The Brooklands Aviation Museum in Weybridge, Surrey, England, has to be one of the world’s most import commercial aircraft museums. We recently paid a visit to this amazing museums and are pleased to present a 5 part mini series exploring the fabulous aircraft available for inspection by museum visitors.
The Vickers Aircraft Company was based at Brooklands and it was from this very airfield in between the 1940s and the 1960s that such famous aircraft including the Vickers Viscount, Vickers Vanguard, Vickers VC-10, Vickers Viking and Varsity and even the Concorde were conceived, developed and in many cases they were first test flown from this location.
Weybridge is truly hallowed ground for all lovers of British built classic airliners, and JetFlix TV strong encourages any aviation fan visiting the greater London area to make all efforts to visit and support this wonderful museum.
One of the nicest aspects of the museum is that visitors are welcome to go on board the actual aircraft in the collection to savour and explore the cabins. interiors and flight decks, something that is not too commonly available at most aviation museums. In addition, the museum is staffed by a wonderful component of highly knowledgable and very friendly volunteers, who are all too happy to explain the interesting historical backgrounds of all the aircraft.
As there was so much fascinating information that we absorbed during our first visit, it was not possible to present it all in one show, thus it made sense to split the tour over 5 different segments. Join JetFlix TV founder Henry Tenby as he takes us on a fascinating and fully immersive tour of the resident classic airliners at Brooklands, including the VC-10, BAC One Eleven, Vickers Vanguard, Viscount and Varsity, and Concorde.
