Fokker F27 1950s and 1960s Mini Series – Now on JetFlix TV

Operating the Fokker F27 Frindship All Around the World Circa 1963Dutch aircraft builder Fokker built the Rolls Royce Dart engine powered Fokker F27 as an advanced replacement for the Douglas DC-3, and was delivered to global airline and military/government customers from the 1950s into the 1980s. The F27’s impressive reliability and flexibility to operate in both passenger and freight roles, in all sorts of weather and environmental conditions made it a true money maker for her owners. But the story did not start out this way.

In the 1950s and 1960s, the war surplus fleet of aging Douglas DC-3s was well entrenched as reliable, low cost regional money makers for the world’s airlines. So much convincing was needed to sway airlines away from their DC-3s to win sales for the then new Fokker 27. The sales and marketing medium of the 1950s and 1960s was primarily moving picture movies, which would provide a wonderful explanation of the virtues of the new aircraft. As such, Fokker produced a number of sales films to promote their then new Fokker 27, and we are now more than happy to be able to share some of these “long lost” sales films with the JetFlix TV community of airline fans, which we have compiled into a 4 part mini series.

On this page we are happy to provide some teaser preview sample clips. But we would like to invite you to support our efforts at locating and digitizing these old films, by signing up with your own membership at JetFlix TV, which will provide you with full viewing access to all our films. Plus, we usually add one new film to our platform each week. So please do consider lending your support.
