This vintage promo movie tells the viewing public about the amazing then new Convair 880 jetliner of the early 1960s, and the introduction to service of the jet with Delta Airlines. The brand new Convair 880 was the fastest subsonic jetliner ever built at the time, and only the updated version of the jet in the form of the Convair 990 was faster. The Convair jetliners were engineering marvels of the day, but sadly the type never achieved the commercial success and acclaim that it deserved, as it was eclipsed by the much more successful Boeing 707 and Douglas DC-8 jetliners of the same era.
