Very few films on the Berlin Airlift was made in glorious kodachrome colour. Simply because the cost of such film was so expensive and it was in very short supply.
American Overseas Airlines in the 1940s post war provided trans-Atlantic air links between points in Europe and the continental United States.
They also participated in the Berlin Airlift with their cargo configured Douglas C-54 DC-4 aircraft. As such, American Overseas Airlines produced this promotional film from 1948 to educate the folks back home in the US of their amazing efforts to maintain freedom to the people of Berlin during this historic blockade by the Soviet forces during the expansion of the iron curtain.
